OUR STORY

We are Bryan, Jordan, & Ollie Stay.

We bought our West Paducah farm in January 2023 in hopes of building something with our hands that would benefit both our family and our new community.

Why Flowers?

I (Jordan) have always had a love and appreciation for flowers and gardening. Growing up, I spent weekends with my Memaw who could grow a rose bush from a yard stick. Her gardens were always the talk of the town and landed her on several Atlanta news stations as a feel-good feature story. On my dad's side, I had my Grandma Esther and Grandpa Carl who always had irises and daffodils that greeted you from a raised bed as you approached their front door. Grandma Esther even ran a floral shop in her earlier years in Seymour, Missouri. Flowers are what tie me to some of my fondest childhood memories.

I would love to be able to help others get the same joy as I did from flowers. In addition to the joy, we love the work and reward that gardening gives. Bryan and I have grown gardens in every home we've ever lived in and there are few things more rewarding than nurturing something from seed to harvest. That pride and sense of accomplishment is unmatched by anything other than raising our son, Ollie.

Why Paducah?

Bryan  and I have lived in a lot of places. We grew up in mid-sized towns in North Georgia. We've lived in big cities; Bryan in Atlanta as a police officer and I lived in Chicago where I attended college and Nashville where I worked in the music industry. Our most recent move was from Bradenton, Florida where Bryan finished his career in law enforcement and I ran a small bakery.

By living in so many places, we were able to really hone in on what was important to us. I come from an arts background and loved that Paducah was a smaller town with access to amazing art and good schools for our son.  Bryan wanted land and solitude after his 2 decades as a civil servant. And we wanted a town that had good values to raise our family.

I've known of Paducah my whole life; it was the halfway point from where I grew up and where my dad's family lived. We made that trip twice a year, every year, my whole life and Paducah is where we would stop to stretch our legs. When we were looking to move, Paducah popped up and it had it all. It was familiar enough to not seem like we were starting from scratch. It had a community that matched up with our wish-list. And it had the cutest property and greatest potential for us to finally lay down some deep roots.

We LOVE our new town and can't wait to add a little patch of beauty to our little slice of Western Kentucky.
